eDNA Assessment of Oyster Reef Communities

Oyster reef communities are a large part of the lowcountry ecosystem. They are responsible for filtering nutrients and particulates from water as well as providing a home to hundreds of species. USCB's collaboration with Baruch Institute is to understand what communities make up the reefs in the North Inlet-Winyah Bay area. Future research will expand into the Port Royal Sound.
